About Jeff Brimley
Jeffrey Brimley showed an interest and proficiency in drawing ever since he was able to pick up a pencil. While in high school, he designed t-shirts for many extra curricular organizations, and found enjoyment doing anything that related to drawing. It was not until 1998 when his father introduced him to a local artist that he started developing an interest in oil painting. Jeff became apprenticed to the very famous Utah artist Greg K. Olsen, who, interestingly, is known locally for not taking on apprentices. Jeff worked closely with Greg Olsen for the next 5 years.
Jeff Brimley's greatest strength is his creativity. He has more ideas than he believes he will ever have time to paint. For years Jeff desired to try and paint animals, particularly those around his home in the mountain west. Jeff took a chance and created a series of wildlife paintings. He nearly sold out of everything he painted that year. Now he is expanding even more by painting Western art and Plein Air paintings.
Jeff currently resides in Utah with his wife and cat.
